Little Caroline will be here in less than 6 weeks. I just can't believe that we are so close to adding another little girl to the family. I have been talking about Caroline a lot more to Aubrey. If I ask her what's in my belly, she will say, "baby." She even kissed my belly the other day. :o)
We had Caroline's heart echo two weeks ago and everything is still looking great. She is weighing in at 4lbs 12oz which totally amazes me to think that there is an almost 5lb baby in my belly.
My perinatologist released me from his care which is great, but sad. I never thought I would get emotional to not see him again, but I started crying and babbling. He is such a great doctor and really gave us great encouragement when we were down, so it is sad to not see him again. I will be sending him pictures of our healthy baby after she arrives. :o)
While they did the heart echo, they also measure the baby and I found out that she is BREECH. Most of the time babies are in the head down postion by 32 weeks. She has a 50% chance of turning, but it all depends on how much room she has, the fluid level, the length of her cord and some other circumstances. I am praying she turns, but will be fine with a c-section. I am not going to do a version (externally turning baby) because it is risky for the baby and painful for the mom. So, at 36 weeks my ob will do another ultrasound to see if baby is still breech. If she is, then we will schedule a c-section for 39-39.5 weeks. Prior to the c-section, they would do another ultrasound to make sure she didn't turn. Fun!
Now I just need to finish Caroline's room. Everything is almost washed and in place. All we need to do is transition Aubrey from the crib to the bed. I think we are going to do this in the next two weeks. We have been reading books in her new bed every night and she pretends to go night-night when we are finished reading the books. She pulls the covers over herself and then puts her head on the pillow. I think she is ready, I just hope it goes smoothly.
