Cystic Hygroma is...GONE

“For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal” declares the Lord, Jeremiah 30:17

(Taken before my appointment-19 weeks)

Yes, you are reading the title correctly. I went in for another ultrasound and possible amnio with Dr. T on Friday. I was a little nervous about the amnio, but prayed that God would resolve the CH and we wouldn't need the amnio.

Dr. T came in and he started the ultrasound. Usually I can see the CH or thick Nuchal fold, but this time I really couldn't see much. I asked if it was gone and he said it looked like it, but he needed to measure. All babies have fluid in the back of the neck, but it is supposed to be within a normal range. The normal range up until 25 weeks is 5mm. He measure and got 2mm. He said that the Cystic Hygroma was GONE. PRAISE GOD!!

I started to cry a little because I have prayed to hear those word for so long. After reading several forums, I knew it was possible. I knew that some of the CH's reslove by 18-20 weeks. I am so happy I prayed and remained strong even when certain doctors weren't as optimistic. I am also happy that we stayed with Dr. T!

My membrane is still not complete attached, so no amnio for me. This could be a sign that there is a chromosome abnormalities, but Dr. T isn't too concerned. We aren't going to do the amnio. I am terrified of the needle and then the stress of possible miscarriage. Instead of the amnio, we are going to see Dr. T monthly to do heart echos on the baby. He wants to make sure the little heart is normal.

Thank you family and friends for your prayers, support, and encouraging words! We are happy and eagerly awaiting this little girls arrival on November 11, 2010. :o)
