Today I made a referral to get Caroline into ECI. ECI is for children that have a specific disability or have developmental delays in certain areas. Since Caroline has Turner's syndrome, she is automatically eligible for the services. It takes about 45 days to get started with the program. She will get a case manager in the next week and then have test done to determine if she has any developmental delays. Once they determine her needs, a occupational therapies will be assigned to her and they will come to our house to work on any particular skills that she needs. Even if she isn't delayed now, she may have spatial or developmental delays later on, so it is better to get in the ECI system now.
This little girl loves practicing her rolling skills during her time out of her harness. She has rolled over twice during her time out of the harness, but both times I didn't have my camera on. She is even trying to roll with the harness on which creates a very frustrated Caroline during bed time.
